Mortality and Its Determinants in Adult Patients with End-stage Liver Disease on Waiting List for Liver Transplantation: A Preliminary Report on Baseline Data

Background: Prevention of death in patients on the waiting list for liver transplantation (LT) is a major concern to prioritize organ allocation. Since model end-stage disease (MELD) and its modifications have many shortages, there need further refinement allocation strategy. Objectives: The current study aimed at assessing predictors mortality LT candidates more comprehensive manner with possible implications improve care such assist developing better strategies Methods: In cohort study, 544 adult were followed up mean 12 months three-month intervals. Moreover, serum level CA 125, high polymorphonuclear (PMN) count, weight loss, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), positive hepatitis B virus (HBV) markers, corpuscular volume (MCV) red blood cells, ascites, edema gallbladder wall had patients. Conclusions: addition score, HPS, MI, low CHO intake, PMN, ALT, surface antigen, MCV, urea nitrogen, thickness are be considered system.
