چکیده

Background: Prevention of death in patients on the waiting list for liver transplantation (LT) is a major concern to prioritize organ allocation. Since model end-stage disease (MELD) and its modifications have many shortages, there need further refinement allocation strategy. Objectives: The current study aimed at assessing predictors mortality LT candidates more comprehensive manner with possible implications improve care such assist developing better strategies Methods: In cohort study, 544 adult were followed up mean 12 months three-month intervals. Data analysis was performed Nutritionist, SPSS, R software, using Kaplan-Meier, Cox proportional hazard (HRC), LASSO regression (HRL) tests. Results: age 46.7 ± 13.7 years; majority male (n = 336, 61.7%). At end 414 (76.1%) subjects still alive 130 (23.9%) dead. cumulative percentages 33.1%, 57.7%, 79.2% after 3, 6, donor, respectively. Although strong association between having hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) (HRC 4.7, HRL 1.8), history myocardial infarction (MI) 3.3, 1.6), low-carbohydrate (CHO) diet 2.7, 1.5), mortality, it weak MELD score. Moreover, serum level CA 125, high polymorphonuclear (PMN) count, weight loss, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), positive hepatitis B virus (HBV) markers, corpuscular volume (MCV) red blood cells, ascites, edema gallbladder wall had patients. Conclusions: addition score, HPS, MI, low CHO intake, PMN, ALT, surface antigen, MCV, urea nitrogen, thickness are be considered system.

Predictors of mortality in patients on the waiting list for liver transplantation.

BACKGROUND AND AIM The demand for liver transplantation (LTx) increases every year, which is in contrast to the stagnation in the number of donors. This phenomenon has given rise to longer waiting times, which results in higher pre-transplantation mortality. Thus, our aim for this study was to identify risk factors, including nutritional variables, for mortality for patients who are on the wait...

Utility of Modeling End-Stage Liver Disease in Children with Chronic Liver Disease

Introduction: Chronic liver diseases consist of wide spectrum disorders that may be complicated by cirrhosis and therefore need to transplantation. The pediatric end-stage liver disease (PELD) score and model of end-stage liver disease (MELD) score has been used as predictors of mortality chronic liver diseases listed for liver transplantation. The aim of this study is evaluation of relation be...

Simultaneous Liver-Kidney Transplantation: Impact on Liver Transplant Patients and the Kidney Transplant Waiting List

Purpose The number of simultaneous liver-kidney transplants (SLKT) performed in the USA has been rising. The Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network implemented a new policy governing SLKT that specifies eligibility criteria for candidates to receive a kidney with a liver, and creates a kidney waitlist "safety net" for liver recipients with persistent renal failure after transplant. This ...
